Convenient accessibility from interstate and within walking distant from neighboring hotels. Parking lot provides more than enough spaces for automobiles. Parking lot well lit at night and kept clean.
My daughter loves this place! It's perfect for kids. The food is cheaper and better quality than any fast food restaurant. I have never had a bad experience at Steak 's Shake
Being from out of town, we have stopped here a few times while passing through the area. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The staff is beyond rude & very, very slow. One one occasion, after finishing our meal, I stood and waited, and waited, and waited to pay our bill. No one came to the register, even though many employees saw me waiting. Finally, some one came, but, no explanation & no apology. Yesterday, we stopped in again. I told my wife that I hope I wouldn't have to wait so long to pay my bill, remembering the last time we were here. There were 2 people waiting to be seated when we entered the door. I saw at least 1 open booth & 1 vacant table. No one came to seat us. The people in front of us finally went & sat at the counter. Two different couples entered after us, but after waiting for at least 10 minutes with no action, they turned around & left. Finally, Violet came to seat us. She barked, "Who's next?" No apology, no explanation for the wait, no smile. Just plain rude. Our food was good, but, again I had to wait forever to pay my bill. Long waits, slow, rude service, and absolutely FILTHY REST ROOMS take this place off my list. It's amazing it's still in business. It's too bad because the food has been good.
This time we went when they were not busy. Sadly the floors were still muddy and wet, especially in the bathroom, which made crutches difficult. Thankfully the food was warm and the cokes were refilled in a timely manner so I was more than happy to leave a good tip. This restaurant is always cold, 365 days a year, so plan on leaving your coat on.
Restaurant is standard Steak N Shake layout. Clean restaurant as expected when visiting franchises. Did not use restroom so unable to comment on cleanliness or conditions of bathrooms.
Stopped here on our way home and ended up waiting 30 minutes for 2 milk shakes. After complaining to the manager he said the shakes were "coming out now" before we waited another 5 minutes. When they did finally come out, there was no apology given or even acknowledgment that it had taken so long, let alone any offer of compensation. If I thought it wouldn't take another hour, I would have demanded a refund.
Once seated it took a bit of time before order was taken. With only 1 waitress I understood the workload she was under so wait was inevitable. Was informed that the restaurant was out of BACON (yikes) so I had to order the Portabello Mushroom Burger. Not my first choice but as expected the food quality was good. Only gripe is how the heck does Steak N Shake run out of BACON?!
We definitely won't be coming back on our next trips through.
I stopped by about 8:00 P.M. and seating was readily available but with 1 waittess attending to other customers and register the wait was a little long to be seated.
Normally I do not order a shake, but I was tempted by the picture of the Kit Kat Shake so I ordered it. I forgot how big the shakes were and could barely finish it. Always very good shakes at Steak N Shake.
I would definitely return to this Steak N Shake and would recommend this restaurant to travelers.
