The park is a beautiful open field with mature hardwoods throughout with baseball fields and playground. The DISC GOLF COURSE however is a joke. Listed as an 18 hole course, there are only 7 baskets on the course. It has great potential with some narrow fairways and long challenging holes, but without baskets it’s not worth your time.
We have our family reunion here. It has a smaller playground then the big park, but it's more suited to keep little ones occupied in a close area which allows the adults the time to visit and catch up while the kids run and play.
I spent a lot of my youth here. Kickball. Fights. Merry go round. Its Southside Park and I love it.
The park also is bordered by what looked like an abandoned chicken farm and low-income housing.
This park has two pavilions for picnics or parties. When I visited this park, the better pavilion by the playground was in use by a family for a birthday party. My children played briefly on a playground set which should either be dismantled or repaired.
My kids love this place, newer play equipment, has a walking trail and everything.
The park field was in use by a midievil reenactment group so we were somewhat limited to the area around the other pavilion which had broken picnics tables.
